Following a storied career as a photojournalist for local newspapers, the Associated Press and weddings in Columbus, Ohio, Michael Barber applied his skills to church communications in Ohio and California.

Mission travels took him to Malawi, Africa, Guatemala and Tijuana, Mexico. He’s produced music videos, a collaboration with good friend and co-worker, Dr. Stephen Main.

Recent non-profit work includes Harbor House, CityTeam Oakland, Children Rising and Las Casas (Oakland), First Community Church (Ohio), Piedmont Church (California), World Neighbors (international) and Rise Up Malawi (international)

Michael’s style brings feeling, emotion and understanding to his stories – allowing the viewer to connect with the subjects, causes and missions he documents. He works quietly and unobtrusively, a trait he gained by covering thousands of feature and news stories for newspaper, magazines and websites.

GEAR - Michael uses Canon C500ii Cinema and Nikon ZR Red Cameras with DZO Arles Prime Lenses for films, and Nikon Cameras and lenses for stills.
